Hello everyone,
I'm Star Wars Fanatic, I was around during the beginning days of RST, and left a while, getting busy with work, life, and college.

For those of you who have been active the past few months, we thank you for your contributions. For those who haven't, well welcome to the club.

The reason I'm back is because of one thing. All of you would have received the email Pete sent out earlier today closing down the site.
It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to this community, and people that I did once know.

This is where I got my first start as a programmer, it's helped me move on to bigger and better things, right now I'm in a position in a partnership coding web sites. I would not be there if not for this site, and this opportunity. As some of you may or may not know, I coded much of the hiscores stat tracking, the signature system, and the stat calculators. That experience has been invaluable, and I thank you guys for giving me the opportunity to do that.

I thank you all for the fun times we had, and wish you the best of luck on all your endeavors.

I've disabled new user registration, and I'll soon be hiding the other forums, and disallowing topic creation, just to keep everything confined to here.
If you have any last words, you're welcome to contribute.

I've re-enabled our hiscores My link tools, with a few changes so bots can't just refresh the page over and over and annoy our server host, this does unfortunately mean that legitimate users will have to answer a very simple question (as simple as 2+2=?) to be able to retrieve any hiscores.

I'm sorry about this change, but its needed if we want to carry on using the hiscores tool.

Today I have updated the Signature Stat Editor so that if you have a RuneScapeTips Forum Account you now no longer need to request permission to edit your characters Signature Stats.

The new state Editor now looks as follows;



The tool is pretty straight forward to use, but here's a quick guide through.

Add RuneScape Account - Associate your Forum Account with a RuneScape Character (Max 1),
Remove RuneScape Account - Remove the Associated Account,
Change Saved Account - Change the account associated with your Forum Account,
Update User Stats - Change the stats shown on our signatures,
Report Abuse - If you think somebody is changing your stats click here and follow the instructions and we'll sort it out ASAP.

Before somebody asks why we didn't do this before, it was due to us worrying that this tool could be abused. I am no longer too worried about this and besides we can easily ban people from this tool. Hope this answers the question.

An update to an updater!

The signature updater will now let you know when your signature stats have been correctly updated instead of just reloading the old page like before.

Also once you're updated your signatures once you will now be told the last time that they were last updated, so you can now easily tell when the last refresh was.

As such the signature updater will look as follows.
