RunescapeTips - Community Forums: Rules

Changes to Rule 7

1) Intelligent debating is allowed but unintelligent flaming and abusive posts are not permitted within RunescapeTips.


2) All swearing is prohibited; this includes partially censoring your own words. The bad word filter is there for a reason, do not bypass it.


3) Spam messages, also known as (Stupid, pointless, annoying messages) are prohibited by RunescapeTips, one word answers and replies/topics consisting of just smiley's are considered spam, we also consider posts made up of just capitals as spam.


4) Referral links are frowned upon within posts and may be removed at the moderators discretion. If you however do put a referral link into a topic a non referral link must be provided!


5) All Jagex rules are enforced with RunescapeTips; anyone found breaking Jagex rules will be dealt with appropriately.


6) Don't abuse the report feature; this feature is here to help the staff members in finding rule breaking posts. Do not use this feature to contact the staff members. To contact Staff Members please use the PM system.


7) Signatures should not be any larger than 550 by 300 pixels or have a file size larger than 150KB (153,600 bytes). Referral links in signatures are highly frowned upon and may be removed at the administrations discretion. Links to sites which we deem unsuitable will be removed. Links to sites which cause the users browser to close, shake are act like it shouldn't are not allowed.


8) Advertising is strictly prohibited apart from clan websites, or in your signature. If you are found advertising you'll be dealt with accordingly. RunescapeTips holds the right to censor any website they deem unsafe, or for any other reason without question. If you advertise in any other way that is against our rules your website will be censored from our forums.


9) Begging is not allowed within our community, if you need help with making money in RuneScape please use the appropriate RuneScape related forum.


10) Only one account per person. If you are caught with more than one account your second account will be permanently banned plus action taken against your first account. Read on to find out how to request name changes.


11) Double posting is not allowed unless otherwise stated within the respected forum. If you need to bump your post you can if the topic has been inactive for over 24 hours and is not in the top 3 topics of the forum it is posted within.


12) Advertising your site via private message is prohibited.


13) Religious posts can only be posted in the official topic found within the Debate Forum.


14) If your post gets deleted do not harass the staff members. If it contained information you wanted to keep please contact an Administrator and they'll try to find the removed post, however we do not guarantee that your topic can be found.


15) A staff member's decision is final; arguing will just make matters worse.


16) Please do not act as a moderator or staff member if you are not one. Aka 'Wannabee modding'. This is highly annoying and unhelpful. Acting like a moderator will lessen your chances of being promoted.


17) your user name must not contain any vulgar, obscene or otherwise offensive words and must not conflict with the above global rules.


18) We do not allow signatures to be sold for real life money or RuneScape gold pieces; you can however create pieces of work for others for free.


19) The primary language of RunescapeTips is English, posts written in another language are currently not allowed as these cannot be moderated.


20) Macro programs and RuneScape gold sites are not allowed to be advertised here. If you are caught advertising these sites your site will be reported to Jagex who may take action against your website.


21) Please refrain from posting in topics where no post has been made in over three months. If you are the topic author you may bump your thread.
Obviously this doesn't apply to announcements and stickies, however if you have something constructive to add to the post you my quietly bump the post. This rule does not apply to the debate room.

Please do not bump posts older than three weeks in the introductions forum.


22) Anyone attempting to undermine the staff's authority by doing something they were told not to do, reversing a change made by a staff member, encouraging others to break the rules, or being frequently and/or exceptionally disruptive to the reputation or nature of the forums will be responded to by the staff with immediate disciplinary action.


23) Posts containing spoilers must be placed within a spoiler tag.




When a piece of work is submitted to RunescapeTips you acknowledge that RunescapeTips is now the sole owner of this piece of work as long as you're credited. You agree that you have not plagiarized your piece of work in anyway shape or form. This means but is not limited to using images or text from the RuneScape knowledgebase and/or other fansites.
