Walkthrough

The Problem...

1) Talk to Elena, who is a short distance away from her parents house. She will tell you that the Mourners have taken her Distillator. She needs it back so she can test Plague samples. Tell her that you will get it back for you, and she will tell you that Jerico could help you get over the wall and into West Ardougne.

Before you head over there, head to the house just South of the bank, there will be Pigeon Cages in the back, grab one, and search the cupboard inside for some bird feed.

Over the Wall...

2) Talk to Jerico, who is inside the house, and he will tell you to talk to Omart about getting over the wall. Omart is southwest of the castle, along the wall. He will tell you he needs you to distract the guards somehow.

Head North to the Watch Tower, and use the Bird Feed on the Tower. Then open the Pigeon cage, all the Pigeons will fly around the Watch Tower, distracting the guards. Now go back to Omart, who will signal Kilron to throw a rope ladder over the wall, which you will then climb over.

Getting the Distillator...

3) Go North to the Rehnison's house, and pick up the Rotten Apple (be careful not to eat it!) on the ground there. Climb through the fence to the East, and use the Apple on the Cauldron. Now try and enter the house, you will be stopped because the people in the house have food poisoning.

Head Southwest, and go into Nurse Sarah's house, search the cupboard and take out the Doctor's Gown. Put it on, and head back to the house, try to get in again, and they will let you. Go upstairs, and to the West, kill one of the Mourners for a key to open the gate. Search all the boxes inside the gate until you find Elena's Distillator. Now head back to Kilron, who will get you over the wall again, and go see Elena.

Strange Results...

4) Elena will test a Plague Sample with the Distillator you brought back, and discover that there is something wrong, there is no Plague! But just to make sure she didn't test it wrong, Elena will ask you take Ethanea, Liquid Honey, a Plague Sample, and Sulphuric Broline to Guidor in Varrock. She also needs you get some Touch Paper from the Chemist in Rimmington.

WARNING: Be careful not to teleport, or get into any fights while those items are in your inventory, or they will be destroyed and you'll have to go back.

Put the items in your bank, teleport to Falador, take them our of your bank, and head down to Rimmington. (Make sure you don't forget the chemicals). Talk to the Chemist, and tell him that you are Elena's friend, and that you need some Touch Paper (tell him that, or he'll take the Plague Sample from you). He'll tell you to give one bottle of Chemicals to each of his Boys, and give you some Touch Paper. You'll need to give the Chemicals to the right people:

DeVinci gets the Ethanea.

Chancey gets the Liquid Honey.

Hops gets the Sulphuric Broline.

Now head to Varrock (be sure to bank the Touch Paper, and Plague Sample before you teleport!)

Testing the Sample...

5) Get your Plague Sample, and Touch Paper, and the Priest Gown (or a few gold pieces if you need to buy it, it can be gotten at the Clothing shop Southwest of the fountain). Now, put on your gown and head to the Southeast part of the city, try to get through the gate there, and the guard will let you through. Visit the Flying Donkey Inn South of the gate, and get the Chemicals back from each of the Boys. Talk to Guidor, who's house is just East of the Inn, talk to his wife, who will let you in if you are wearing the Priest Gown, talk to Guidor, who will then test the Sample, and tell you that Elena was right, there is no Plague.
Head back to Elena's house and tell her this, she will be shocked and tell you to talk to King Lathas and let him know. Head over to the Castle, and go upstairs and talk to the King, he will say that he did this on purpose because of his brother, King Tyras, who he will tell you about. Then the King will reward you and...
