Walkthrough

Head to the champions guild and talk to the guild master, ask about rune plate mail and he'll tell you his friend Oziach might have some.

Oziach
Head of to Oziach who is on the edge of the wilderness inside the good side , talk to him and mention the rune plate mail, he'll say he might sell you some if you slay the dragon elvarg on crandor island, he'll mention three map pieces that have spread out other the land of RuneScape, he'll hand you a key to melzars maze.
Map peice 1 - Melzars maze

Head out of the south gate of Falador and towards the crafting guild, you'll see a big building use your key with the door to enter, you'll have to kill each type of monster on each floor to obtain the following keys,

Red key: Rat (level 6) kill for a red key use on the north western door, go up ladder Orange key: Ghost (level 19) Kill for a orange key, use on second south door, go up ladder

Yellow key: Skeleton (level 22) kill for a yellow key, use on south west door,go up ladder three times

Blue key:Zombies (level 25) Kill for a blue key, use on north door.

Magenta key Melzar the mad (level 43) kill for magenta key, use on one and only door.

Green key Lesser demon (level 82) kill for green key, use on one and only door and search chest for map piece one.

Map piece 2 - ice mountain

Talk to the oracle who'll on the ice mountain north of Falador, she'll tell you to enter the room you'll need to following items to pass the magical barrier.
Crustacean Cage - Lobster pot
Bowl that has not seen fire - Unfired bowl
Sheet of worm string - Silk
Drink of the Mage - Wizards mind bomb


The room

The 'room' is inside the drawven mines, to the north east, enter through the door with the items listed above and search the chest, there's map piece 2.
Map piece 3 - Port Sarim jail

If you can use Telekinetic grab, take out 1 law rune and some air runes, and some combat runes,(you can range also) not many since its a low level creature you're fighting. kill the goblin and telekinetic grab the map. Low magic/range levels talk to the goblin and buy the map piece for 10k.
Put all the map pieces together and you'll have a full map of crandor.
Buying the boat

Head over to the Duke of lumbridge and ask for a anti dragon fire shield, he's upstairs in Lumbridge castle, now make sure you have 2k in you inventory and head over to Port Sarim and talk to the sailor to the south of port sarim docks, and offer to buy his board the lady lumbridge for 2k,
Fixing the boat

Get 3 planks and 90 nails from your bank and head below deck and use the planks with the hole, its not hard to spot!
The captain

Head over to Draynor and find ned the rope maker ask him to take you to Crandor the island with Elvarg the dragon.
Getting ready

Wear your best armour you've got, lots of food, your anti fire shield, a one handed shield unless you can't use the shield and will be nicely toasted. don't use magic or ranged attack as they hardly hit the dragon. also teleport runes, if you can teleport.
Getting there

Head over to port sarim and board your ship sail to crandor and unfortunately you'll crash into some rocks and your ship will be wrecked, head of the island and head into the middle of the island and done to hole, run pass the lesser demons and push the odd looking door, its best to do this before the fight as you might not have food left to get past the lesser demons.
The fight

There are no safe spots of you did decide to use mage or range which isn't advised, so just bare it and eat, eat, eat you will eventually kill the dragon and be teleported out of the cage, either teleport of the island or through the odd looking wall that you found earlier.
Head of to Oziach and buy your first Rune plate mail!.
